KUMARAKOM BACK WATER CRUISE

The house boats have furnished bedrooms, modern toilets, kitchen, etc. Most of the boats are powered by a 9 hp engine.

The house boats are known as ‘ Kettuvallom or boat with knots ‘. The entire boat was held together with coir knots only, not even a single nail is used during the construction. The Kettuvallom was covered with bamboo mats and coir . Meals would be cooked on board and supplemented with fresh fish from the back waters.
